RCI, the world’s largest timeshare exchange company, and Fairmont Resort Properties have just agreed to an exchange affiliation. Fairmont Resort Properties Ltd. is Canadian owned and is the largest developer of timeshares in Canada. They own Fairmont Vacation Villas in Fairmont Hot Springs B. C., Lake Okanagan Resort in Kelowna B. C., Fairmont Houseboats in Salmon Arm B. C., Makaha Resort and Golf Club in Oahu Hawaii, Costa Maya Reef Resort in Ambergris Caye Belize, Oasis Resort Casino, Golf and Spa in Mesquite Nevada, Fairmont Rancho Banderas Resort in Puerto Vallarta Mexico, Portofino Resort in Cabo San Lucas Mexico, and Americano Beach Resort in Daytona Beach Florida.
RCI, with 3.8 million members, is adding the Fairmont Resorts to their profile of some 4,000 resorts around the world. Group RCI is part of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies. They have access to more than 73,000 vacation timeshare properties in roughly 100 countries.
This move will expand the options available to all RCI members and will open some new areas to explore. Plus, Fairmont will be able to use the strength of the RCI opportunity to help them increase new sales for timeshare units.
Here’s some tips on exchanging timeshares from another blog. It applies to both RCI and II timeshare exchanges.

Another group leaving II for RCI. Recently it seems to be the trend. Seems like more Resorts are leaving RCI for II than the other way around.
Fairmont timeshare owner and just got through with the big seminar on how great it is going to be with RCI. II is loosing ground fast they said. The cost for me to change to RCI points is only going to cost me $10,000.00 to convert my two Liesure bi-annuals. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That is more than i paid for my timeshare to start with. This sounds like a CASH CALL to me. I wonder how much they had to pay RCI? If all 20,000 owners paid $10,000.00 they would bring in $200,000,000.00 (200 million dollars). That would pretty much fix their problems. They must stay as a dual resort (both RCI & II) so i would imagine it is the same with the other resorts that are switching to RCI. They said II was loosing one resort a day to RCI and that is the reason the II catalog is getting thinner. My catalog keeps getting thicker. NOT CHANGING!!! They will not get any more of my money. DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY, AND QUITE SHAMEFUL.
